Lewes

Originally a Dutch whaling settlement establish in 1631 and named “Swan Valley,” nearly 400 years since, people come to enjoy the beaches, parks, trails, and significant entertainment.  The town is home to a diverse group of interesting people.  This include river pilots who carefully guide the enormous cargo ships up the Delaware river to destinations such as Philadelphia.  It also includes many artists, entrepreneurs, doctors, nurses, fishermen and vacationers like yourselves.  Perhaps the grandchildren of soldiers from the military base or even the German sailors who surrendered their U-Boat at the fishing pier will be you next Lewes connection.
