Fort Miles

Fort Miles was established to protect the mouth of the Delaware river.  It saw its peak population during World War II when the many towers, that still stand today, were used to triangulate and concentrate fire against German U-boats.

There are many tours, but the best of which is the bunker tour to see the massive cannon and the deep and complete bunker system that appears as a large sand dune.

Make sure to review the tours and schedules.
